Our Story

Journey

All of us within the Aspirations Community have experience of walking our own journey. At times this has not been easy. We recognise that our world, culture and society is contstantly evolving, changing and developing. Boscombe is no exception to this and in many ways is more like an inner-city environment. Our experience is not your experience and we all travel a very different, unique and very personal journey. We are interested in hearing your story and hope that you will be interested in hearing our story as well. Together, we can help each other. We all have a very different story to tell about our journey of life but believe that our experiences in life are often shared with others and do have to be lived in isolation. Sharing our journey can often be a coping mechanism and open the door to help us overcome. We have started in Boscombe and hope that others in the wider community of Bournemouth will benefit.

Boscombe Community

Boscombe is rich with so many creative, talented people and attributes. Yet so often it is given a bad image by the media and the wider community. There is so much that we can be proud of in Boscombe where there are many creative artists, actors and musicians who live and work in a resort that boasts stunning views along the coast. Indeed it has it's social problems like many other seaside resorts and we hope to build on the strong community that we have and find solutions to make Boscombe an even better community. This can be achieved by putting people first.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

We recognise that we are all unique, all different and therefore want

to reflect our diverse culture within all that we do. Equality, diversity and Inclusion are all essential ingredients to all that we do. We will aim not to exclude anyone from our activities or projects and endeavour to include every person. Our community is diverse and we want to reflect that diversity in all that we do. We also aim to find solutions to help all people from young to old whether that involves music, creative arts, activities or mentoring/befriending projects.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is an absolute key element to our work. We will make every effort to ensure safety in the community and that this is given priority. We will work with key agencies and professionals if anyone is at risk in the community and will work towards ensuring that harm is minimised.

Making a Difference

Making a difference is crucial to all that we do. That may start with individuals but it also will spill out into the wider community. Together we can be stronger, more confident and support each other with the struggles that life often throws at us. Together, we can make a difference.
